When my little sister, Leena, was recently diagnosed with scoliosis, she didn’t let her back brace stop her from playing basketball or playing her trombone. I want to help kids like Leena and encourage them that they, too, can continue to do the things they love. Embrace Your Brace is a short story written to encourage children to wear their brace. This book has been printed and is now available for patients to take home at the Fort Myers and Naples offices of Pediatric Orthopedics of Southwest Florida. My goal is to continue to distribute this book into other pediatric orthopedic offices to accomplish my mission of making patient care resources accessible for all children.
